you'll be dancing once again

in the last two weeks we've received so many kind comments, emails, hand written notes, and even Levain cookies straight from NYC. i'm realizing more and more how much a kind word can work towards healing. they really have helped. so thanks.

here are pictures from our west coast extravaganza that i never posted. it's a lot, sorry, but if i don't post them now, i never will. we started at disneyland and ended up in the seattle area to visit good friends who just adopted three beautiful children. along the way we got to see kate (and graham) and cara, who i love. and the food scene in portland blew our minds. it was a wonderful trip, especially now that i've forgotten about the endless driving, our crappy A/C, and lots of first trimester nausea. don't be jealous that we met aladdin.

stopped at a few DDD places. this had really good falafel and banana shakes we dream about, and neither of us likes bananas very much.

Oh Abby. Cannon Beach? I must tell you that Cannon Beach is my favorite place in the world. IN THE WORLD. I'm so glad you got to put your footprints there too. Oh and those berries.... mmmmmm.

Even though I'm sure you do this many times a day, tell Pearl that she is just sweet as pie.

You take lovely photos, m'dear.

The above comment (by Blair) was actually by me, who frequently forgets to sign out of his account. Right then.

FALAFEL DRIVE IN! Oh my, you were right across the freeway from my favorite mall that I shopped in growing up. Stayed there last weekend as a matter of fact!
Story about Falafel's...I worked at an athletic club at the front desk. The daughter of the Falafel Drive In would work out every afternoon after the lunch shift. She was cute as a button but the girl REEKED of the fryer whenever she came in. Finally someone told me she worked at her dads place, FDI. I had a hard time believing she worked at a crappy drive in because she drove a convertible Mercedes, I mean how could she afford that? Then they told me how wildly successful the place was.
And there you have it!!

Abby, you are never allowed to say sorry for posting a lot of photos. In fact, you should say sorry more often for not posting enough of your amazing photos. David and I always say that we think you are such a great photographer. You have a really great style and it's so distinct that I feel like I could pick out a picture and know that you took it. That's a compliment!

Your children are the cutest in the universe. A little girl with mile long eyelashes, dimples, and curly hair is on my wish list. And Milo with a little pocket t-shirt and thumbs up is to die for. That photo of Jamie should be in a magazine or framed or something. What a great picture.

My internet was out for like two weeks. I'll email you back soon. I love and miss you, as always!

And Tiffany's comment above makes me just about cry. She's the sweetest person and I hardly know her. I hope you are doing well. Still in my prayers.

I'm TOTALLY jealous that you met Aladdin! And that you got to go on such a great trip. But mostly, I'm jealous of your cute short hair. I need a new 'do bad. Do you mind if I copy? No one will know, promise.

And where did you eat in Portland that is good? We're always on the lookout.

Glad you had fun! You deserve some happy. :)
