it takes some time to figure out that livin life is all that life's about
my blog managers(kate lines and kate bueler) tell me it's time to blog again. so i will! but totally their fault if i bore you.
we went to colorado over the weekend to visit jamie's grandparents. it's always a nice time there and i always get the feeling like i belong there. not necessarily colorado, but the "country." i know that's where my husband belongs for certain.
this is probably the last time we'll be able to visit them in that house so i took some pictures of the little nooks and crannies of their home.
as i was doing dishes at this window saturday morning, a beautiful red fox, speckled with orange and white, ran across the lawn.
jamie's grandma is something special. she stayed up late at night telling us stories from the good old days of ranching and farming. at one point she stopped and sighed, "just thinking of all the living we've done makes me tired." she said it rather forlornly, but i appreciate the sentiment. if only we could all be living so much!

One of your blog managers took photos of David's mission companion and his wife recently. The ones in the library are darling, don't you think?
You do such a great job with your photos. That little cowboy hat is to die for, and so are your kids' little faces.
You should plan to blog every time I am in a 2.5 hour class!
As one of your blog managers, I approve this message.
Looks like a great weekend. I only have one living grandpa, and I'm praying he'll be able to be around still when I have kids.
i love that she said that. makes me want to start appreciating the hard times more.
Great post, Abby. I wish I could visit their home and meet them. AG
Dear blog managers,
Thank you.
Dear abby,
never. ever. boring. always perfect and delightful and just what the dr. ordered. and i too belong in the country. i know exactly what you mean. thanks for blogging today. really, thank you.
Beautiful place. I think Colorado is lovely.
Also, that cookie jar is awesome.
as your second blog manager, i also approve this message.
that photo of pearl is unreal! and i love the photos of the house.
p.s. click on this profile link and you'll see my new blog. i'm new and stuff.
I love this post. very much. for reasons I'm sure you can guess. We have not been able to make it over there for years. When my mom told me recently they had sold the place and had to move (April?) a part of me was mad she didn't tell me they were selling it or would have liked to have bought it. Reality is Brian would not have a job there so it would be completely impractical, but the artist in me says "so what?"
Beautiful pictures. Looks like a nice place to have a vacation home!
You can never bore us with your beautiful photos! :)
looks like an awesome place. glad you got to go.
PEARL!!!
I love Grandma's house. Wherever Grandma and Grandpa were was the best place to be. Nobody told me they sold their house. I only learned it was for sale when I went after Christmas. Why does nobody ever tell me anything? I will miss that place. Your photos are beautiful, and so are you. And your blog is never boring.
amazing pictures. that one of pearl is the CUTEST thing ever.
We have the leapster. I repeat, we have the leapster.
your photos are beautiful... and so are your babies :)
this blog made me want to cry... i love my great grandparents so much and i'm so glad you took these pictures and took the time to post about grandma and grandpa sharp. :)
So, Kate Lines is my sister and yet I am just only hearing about your blog from Team Boo. Something must be wrong here...
