born in the wrong century? yes.

by now you know of my love for youtube, the poor man's netflix. you can really watch so many movies and shows on it. right now we are watching the pbs/bbc series lark rise to candleford. it's the most endearing, sweet show. we watch an episode every night before bed and it is my little daily sunshine amidst the january doldrums. you can start with season one right here on youtube. or if you are really rich you can watch it on netflix.

thank you youtube! you're good for more than funny kitty videos!

i'm also excited to start watching downton abbey. anyone watching that?

Also most excited to start Downton Abbey—I'll probably start watching it this weekend. I wanted to wait so I could watch it all in one big gush. Sometimes I simply cannot wait.

Thanks for the heads up about Lark Rise to Candleford.

While I can honor the past, I'm pretty sure this is my century. Unless I could have had servants to wash the dishes and do the laundry by hand. (But I do love tampons and disposable diapers.)

Oooh Lark Rise. Sadly the BBC just announced this last season is the final season, very upsetting!

I was born to be Margaret Hale {North & South} or Elizabeth Bennet! I am in the process of seriously considering changing my life to live like they did 150 years ago ;)

BTW I met Julia Sawalha {Dorcas} - lovely lady :)

And Downton - oh yes, it is a delightful way to spend Sunday evenings!

I started watching Downton Abbey last Sunday night, and was immediately smitten! It's such a refreshing thing to counter the barbaric behaviors and crude language I am exposed to daily. (11 fights on our campus last week.) AG

sooo, around here we just ride on the coat tails of the rich and famous and use their netflix account.

maybe that's dishonest.

but I don't think it is.

I was also born in the wrong century. Jane Austen told me so.

oh shoot. I'm realizing its not an instant play.

youtube it is.

Downton Abbey is great! I wish there were more than 4 episodes. Lark Rise to Candleford is great too. Have you seen Lost in Austen?

Abby, I love Lark Rise! My favorite is the 2 sisters. I also love the dad, and the Downton valet had high marks from the beginning!

Downtown Abbey! It gets me through runs on the treadmill right now because winter is an awful season for exercise. I love having something distracting and is there anything better than period dramas like that? Definitely not! One of my favorite things in life.

Thanks to you, I am now addicted to Downton Abbey. I will check out the other show soon, though. I'm not really liking the eldest daughter (Mary), though. She's rude until the middle of episode 2. Then you start to see another side of her. We'll see how I feel about her later on. Everybody else is delightful, though. Even the snooty mother played by Professor McGonagall. I find it humorous that the servants are snootier than the lords and ladies of the house, though! :D

David's cousins were just talking about this show over the weekend. I can't wait to start watching it. It reminds me of when you were watching Emma in St. Kitts (did you watch it there or just tell me about it when you lived there?). You said something about how the girl that plays Emma annoys you. Anyway, when David's cousins talked about Downtown Abbey this weekend we started talking about the other series, such as Emma. I started saying how Emma annoyed me and then realized that I couldn't remember if she really annoyed me or if I was just remembering what you said! Why can't I have a mind of my own and have to try to always be like you? :)

I love your show recommendations. I watched Emma, and now I'm hooked on Lark Rise. I think I'm going to fail a final tomorrow because of it.

If you like this then I think you may like Cranford. It's so charming. And it stars Judi Dench. I watched all episodes in two days. Don't judge.
I love your blog - it really is so delightful.

Oh my gosh, let's be friends. I LOVED Downton Abbey. Even if I did call it Downtown Abbey for the first week I started talking about it.

Loved your post on Team Boo. You've got a new fan.
