not my gumdrop buttons!

20 december

i won't show you the kids' houses. they come up to the table every few minutes and gnaw on their roofs like rats.

21 december

this is labor. he has quickly surpassed agnes as favorite cat because, although he is homely, he is not too good to let you hold him. even a little girl's torments are welcome because he likes being in the warm house. (raise your hand if you watched tiny toon adventures. pearl = elmyra.)

22 december

we attempted to play in the snow but it is very wet out there.
and can someone give me a scientific explanation for why boys suck on their shirt collars? argh.

p.s. go here for a good old-fashioned christmas cry.

p.p.s. i turned on ads and i feel dirty about it. this is not me trying to promote my blog AT ALL. i was just really curious mostly. like, what if my blog could pay for my peppermint patty addiction? that would be cool. (i don't think it will.)

You've certainly got winter! The candy house is sweet! I was going to say that in the winter, maybe boys suck on their shirt to distract themselves from the cold, but that doesn't explain summer-sucking. More power to you on the kitty. Can't wait to see you. AG

i can relate all too well to elmyra as well. sigh. also, we're going to the messiah sing-along downtown tomorrow and i cannot WAIT! so that i can also see the face of god. sort of. also also, my husband has a polo shirt from high school that he still wears, and it has a giant hole in the corner of the collar from sucking/chewing on it. SICK.

tiny toons reference...this made my day!

colorful (candy-full) gingerbread houses are the best. also, pearl's shirt is really cute.

everything is making me cry lately. i burst into tears at the post office the other day when i started thinking about everyone sending packages home to their loved ones. i'm blaming it on the season.

I die over yout gingerbread house. It is so you. So basically it's fabulous and I want to live there. I check your blog regularly and just miss pearl and her curls and can't believe Milo is so big. Gosh I love your family. Hope your Christmas is the best and you better call me if you visit the Orem gals cause I'm meeting you there.

oh, i love that candy house. when will you be gnawing on it?

there is no scientific reason for boys sucking on shirts. something is always wet when it comes to owen. it's just unexplainable.

not my gumdrop buttons! i got that reference.

i love that christmas video. i wish people would do that where i live.

I kind of feel like your blog post titles are for me. Like secret messages.

are you aware of all of your talents? i hope so because they are pretty astounding. the pic of pearl and the cat looks like an ad for something beautiful, like organic cat food or child/animal abuse prevention. who cares if you turned your ads on? i say if you can find something to support your addictions, go for it. with gusto. love to you!!

Ha Ha Ha! I LOVE tiny toons adventures. :) What is up with the chewing collars thing? I thought my boys were the only ones that did that. I have threatened they will be buying their own clothes. I think with the coats the collars are practically in their mouth anyway, but sometimes I think they are "teething" -it seems more prevalent with my kids when they are losing and growing new teeth. Or maybe they are thirsty?- but they refuse to get a drink. Can you tell it drives me a little crazy?
enjoyed the food court video- thanks for sharing.

That video was amazing. I don't cry often, but that got me all choked up. At work. (oh i covered it up with a totally unnecessary coughing fit). My girls and I went to Wal8mart last night and there were a bunch of carolers there. It was the best. We loved loved it.

And I was Elmyra as a child as well. :)

Have a very Happy Christmas my dear!

Hilarious! I love that you seem to have time to be so creative. I guess I could make time, too, if I tried:)

And I forgot last time, but wanted to say I love the pictures of Milo in the snow- they look great.

i've kind of been thinking of doing photo-a-day for 2011. hopefully i'll have a baby at some point in 2011 and i'll have subjects as cute as yours...

ooh! guess what! i'm all caught up on this photo a day thing! i may or may not have cheated in getting enough photos up there since 15 or so are from the same day, BUT i hope to be better at it now that i can blog from my phone. :)

I'm a little jealous of how cute your ginger bread house looks!

And seriously... i need you to give me photography lessons... NEED YOU TO!!! You take amazing pictures!

Also, I wish I somehow knew how to make the time to read books like you do. I think it is the coolest thing to have such a huge collection of books that you have read! (I know that wasn't part of this post, but your goodreads icon reminded me I was thinking about that!)

Oh, and like Sophie said... If you go visit the Orem gals call me too! I totally want to be there!

little dorrit was really good. it always leaves me longing and a little depressed when one of these movies finally comes to end. i wish i could spread them out, like one episode a day so it will last longer-- but that is just too hard for me!
need more!

abby definately mention it to my brother!

my sisters boys would chew on their chirts too. She said it would ruin the fabric and begin breaking off. So she took their shirts off and made them stand outside for awhile when she caught them doing it.

nearly two weeks without an abby post is lame.

hey,

I kind of randomly found your blog and now it is my favorite. (Sorry that is creepy.) Your pictures are so beautiful. And I love Bon Iver and all your music choices (just so you know).

when will you be moving to Arizona? Aren't there a bunch of people here you really like and want to be around?

I'm just saying, I'd like to know the person whose family I'm kind of obsessed with.
