the glamorous life. or, life in paradise.

hang the laundry on the line, since it's not raining today. marvel at how much you enjoy hanging laundry on the line.

drape sheet over your daughter's hair. she is a princess. try to think of something else for your children to do besides watching classic cartoons.

set princess on potty. feel good about the fact that you have (mostly) potty-trained her. try not to worry about the fact that your son has taken to wetting the bed and wetting his pants in the middle of the day.

sip some ting. cry when reading your email. do the dishes. feel thankful for the invention of the ipod and the birth of andrew bird in 1973. talk to your husband on the phone. he's passed his first test!

blog about your boring day.
and it's not even half over.

Oh goooosh Abby, I should do a post about my boring day! Only it would involved two cats instead of two children. And they're not even awake! I feel ya, but doesn't it make things better when you're able to take pretty pictures and have a pretty dress and cute kids and yummy ting and good music? haha =)

i have always wanted a clothes line. maybe next year?...
don't worry about mr. milo. it's normal. and it will pass. good job on potty training pearl! For that, you deserve some ting and a really cute shirt.
i'm glad that you are taking pictures of your life there. Someday when you are done with all of this and the sounds and smells and routines that are your life right now start to fade, you will have your beautiful pictures to bring it all back. i'm pretty sure that you will miss this someday:)... you are inspiring abby and i think about you and send you happy thoughts all the time:). enjoy the rest of your boring day;).

Your dress is hot. So is your straw. Congratulations to Jamie. You are the best.

I'm sorry your bored. :( I get bored too. I guess life is life even when you are surrounded by beach and tropical breezes. You are my "Friend of the Day" on facebook today. It's awesome.

I'm gonna be honest here. Your pretty pictures make everything look so glamorous, peaceful, and right out some classic novel. I love it.

oooh I love that dress. You do the vintage look very very well Abby. Ting always makes me sing the Ting Tings. Try it, it is sure to put a smile on your face!

You think your day is boring? If I blogged about my day it would be this: Wake up at 3AM and stay up off and on until 6AM. Get some sleep while husband takes care of baby and poops everywhere before husband goes to school. Feed baby, bounce, swing, and sing to crying baby and try to get baby to sleep... baby doesn't sleep well for first two naps. Eat a Mounds bar and a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese. Look at Abby's blog. Now try to get baby to sleep again.

That drink looks delicious! I was obsessed with orangina in Europe (not obsessed with that name!) and loved how there was pulp in a carbonated drink. Send me some.

your pictures are gorgeous Abby! Looks like you're having a good time, but sounds like you're a little bored. Did you get to take your sewing machine? Projects always keep me from being bored, or good books. Is there a library around that you could get some books for you and the kids?

That Pearly Girl! Wow is she ever gorgeous!

The dress looks lovely. Ting looks delish.

I am so sorry you are bored, and probably lonely. I miss you SO much!

When we moved from our Lamont Lowell house into the basement (you know what I mean), we went from 1 kid in pull-ups at night to FIVE. It was a nightmare for me at the time. But a few months after we moved into our (hopefully) forever house, we went back down to the original bed-wetter. I think that when kids have stressful life changes, the peeing becomes an issue, amongst other behavioral problems. It will get better. I promise.

I think about you guys every single day. CONGRATS to James on passing his first test! Love you guys.

BTW, I have always wanted a clothesline to hang clothes on. Somehow, I don't think our HOA would be keen on it though. :-( Too bad.

Another thing to be thankful for is the internet and blogs to stay in touch when you are so far away. Your pictures are really good. Did you get a new camera too? Or are you just a great photographer.

Jamie said...

Both Pam. My girl is a genius photographer and she has a super cool husband and mother-in-law who gave her a much deserved shiny new camera.

Amy said...

Congrats Jamie- so proud of you! Congrats Pearly on moving on to panties. (And Abby for getting her there). We love and miss you and pray for you and think of you often.

There aren't very many blogs where I get to be the 29th commentor, so this is pretty cool. Congrats on potty training a princess. And sympathies for the not so dry prince. It's sort of nice to have a boring day right?

How can you make a "boring day" look so good? I love all your pictures! Fabulous talent, Miss Abby

Abby,

I just found you today and I love your blog. I'm jealous of your sun and your clothesline. Stepping into your life for a minute today made me feel like I wasn't in the middle of winter. thank you thank you.

i came here via my sister (eliza) and a few times before from kakie. your kids are cute. when we lived in paris last summer i used to cry while reading my email. a lot. also, my husband's family moved to a teeny island in the middle of nowhere when he was 4 and reading your blog reminds me of what his mom has told me about it. i could use an island right now.

Sugarlene said...

I love hanging clothes on the line....Those were the days.....and as I always told my kids when they were growing up, "Life is what you make it..." Explore the world, Abby, and the island...there are adventures and treasures awaiting you!!!

Emily said...

I wanted Hanner to marry Austin, but she wanted to marry someone else. Plus, they already knew each other, so a set up (without me ever having met her) wasn't really going to work.
