don't worry baby

well it only took 10 days of living in the caribbean but we finally made it to the beach! we loved it! the ocean is special to me. and can you tell pearl is a beach girl?

i wish jamie could have been there but he's suddenly too interested in cutting up dead bodies to pay us much attention! it's hard. james and i are kind of co-dependent. and now we're kind of lost on how to live like this. he leaves at 7:15 every morning and doesn't get home until 9ish. i miss him very much. just another thing to adjust to! thank heavens for the friends we have made. oh and at dinner last night, james was reciting organs or types of guts or something like that (obviously i shouldn't be a physician), and he kept reciting and reciting. and i tried and tried to pay attention but he just kept going and going. for like 5 minutes. and i was quite bored. and i thought, "is this really my life for the next three years?" (i'm laughing because i know he's going to read this at school and get ticked!) but i am very very very proud of james. he is going to master all those types of guts in no time.

and of course haiti is on our minds. there is added significance because of our sweet haitian-born neices, and because we are geographically so close. it puts things in perspective. we have so much to be thankful for. i'm hoping that this world attention can turn such a tragedy into a catalyst for change in that country.

I don’t know how to adjust to husbands being gone... I hate it when they are. My sisters tell me it doesn’t get much better once they’ve graduated :{... I guess it just works out! Pearl looks so cute in her little swimming suit. She looks like Annie!!

yes, i adore pearl's swimsuit. and i'm trying to process in my head that this photos were taken recently and not on your summer vacation months ago. you're wearing a swimsuit in january. outside. ray would say, "idn't that weird, mom?" and i would say, "yes."

Pearl is a babe. I love her smile and her hair. I'm glad you got to the beach. That would be a terrific antidote to beat the blues. Wonderful photography, again. We all want to be there with you.

It looks so magical. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains in the background and the small waves plus it doesn't hurt that there are gorgeous people in the photos also.

There is just something about Pearl's face. She is the cutest girl, honestly, and not to mention she has such a fun little personality too.

You need to get me a mailing address A.S.A.P. I spent a good ten minutes today thinking about an idea for a little something for you so hurry, hurry!

So glad I'm not in any of the beach pictures, except for a little leg. Well, let's do the beach again this week, what do you say?!!? Good luck on your lesson planning.

You really are such a great mom. At least, from what I can tell over the last two weeks.
