milestones schmilestones.

Pearl started army crawling tonight. Yay.

It finally dawned on Milo that he could climb out of his crib tonight. Boo.

Anyone have any suggestions for keeping him in his crib? Jamie wants to tape his legs together...

Uh-oh. It was going to happen sooner or later. Maybe it's time for the toddler bed, so there aren't accidents during the climbing out of the crib moments. You may have to resort to tricks to get him to stay in it, like "sleep" on the floor beside him until he falls asleep. AG

you can buy crib tents that stop them climbing out, but most people I knew who bought them had slightly younger children...

Can he rationalize? Can he make a deal? If he stays in after he goes to bed he gets a reward in the am, like swimming the park a new toy car?

Poor you, a crawler and a climber!!!

Once my little ones learned this, it was "all over". :-(

Probably time to get a little junior bed.... Milo will feel like a Big Boy, and your crib mattress will fit perfectly.

Have fun with your precious children - they are beautiful! :-)

I guess you could try and explain to him how dangerous it is to climb out and hope he doesn't try again? But since that probably won't work, I'd just get him set up in a toddler bed and pray he stays. ;-) Transitioning to a regular bed (as in, "no bars") is so hard on parents. A necessary evil.

Sorry--I'm no help. Just know I feel your pain. ;-)

My parents used to tie Austin and I to our cribs...I'm not joking. Then we learned how to untie knots. You could think of it as a teaching tool. :) I'm joking about that last part. I don't really think you should tie Milo in bed.

i know when ava did this tim and dusty bought a crib tent. this bought them some time until it was time for the real "bed." personally, i've locked my children both in their rooms since they were little. so, even though tucker can climb out, he never does anymore cause he knows it won't get him anywhere. plus, i sleep A LOT better knowing this.

Thanks for the advice everyone! We do have a toddler bed (thanks Amy + Rob), so I think I might try to do the transition.

Angela, I just have to say that that is so so funny! Jamie was kind of serious about taping Milo's legs, and I was appalled! But, if a stake and mission president tied his kids to their cribs, I guess taping isn't so bad! :) I love it.

Yeah crawling! Afton still pushed as hard as she can with her feet and rocks back and forth and then falls on her face. Boo getting out of the crib. I am not looking forward to that at all. Good luck. Can you believe you have two kids. Crazy.
