para-para-paradise

We visited San Diego in February for aforementioned grandfather's military memorial service. It was a really wonderful trip. Even the funeral. My dad gave a eulogy that made everyone cry. And when they play Taps? Forget about it.

We packed into those few days a visit to La Jolla, Seaport Village, Point Loma Lighthouse, the Mormon Battalian historic site, the San Diego Zoo, the USS Midway, and Old Town San Diego. (I'm not going to do links. Do I have to do links?) I love San Diego! Jamie spent half his childhood there and thinks California is an over-priced earthquake zone with too much traffic. I don't think I'm ever going to live in San Diego because of my unreasonable husband. Cry with me?

(Regards to my blog managers. Your checks are in the mail.)

Yes! I was just thinking... man, where in the world is Abby Sharp. She's in freaking Carmen...er San Diego.

Looks like a great trip. I will cry with you. San Diego has been #1on places to live for a looong time. When we get rich and famous we're totally going to be posh and buy a beach house in La Jolla. (insert laughter and sacrastic tone.)

Um, you won another giveaway? Do you rig these or something?

These photos are amazing! You are so good behind the camera.

Why are your kids growing up? They aren't allowed to! When did Pearl's hair get so long and when did she get so old? Boohoo!

You are so pretty. I love your hair. This San Diego trip sounds wonderful.

Abs--did you seriously take these pictures?! You inspire me. I still need to post my [very amateur] newborn photo shoot pics on my blog so you can see. Anyway, can you tell me what you used to take these pics? Your 50mm lens...or did you get a new lens? Can we get together in UT for a "shoot" sometime, and I can be your apprentice? (not at all joking)

PS--you win every blog giveaway.

I'm going to do a blog giveaway and call it 'don't bother entering because abby's already won'. You're magic. Congrats!! I almost emailed you the other day to make sure you were alive and well. Now I see that you were just soaking up every last drop of that California feeling. So glad because it is a good feeling indeed. Your pictures capture that so well. You've got a gift (well, like a million gifts really). Hope all is well! Love to you!

That is so sad that you won't be living in San Diego because it's the best ever! I love living here and I hope I never have to live any place else. It is overpriced but that's pretty much the only bad thing about it.

Your Pearl has the same kind of hair as my Averie! How do you tame it? Averie's will dry really nicely in perfect spirals after a bath but eventually after playing, naps, etc turns into a huge poof. Any advice??
