Oh Abs -- cracking up! So glad you are documenting this. You and the kids will just love looking back on this. And PS, you really are the BEST BEST MOM!
My mom used to "go on strike" when she couldn't take us anymore. I think it's a pretty smart idea. And I hope we wrote her some equally awesome notes. Oh kids!
Haha, this is amazing!! Lyla has a new thing where she tells me to close my eyes (like we tell her when we surprise her with something) and whenever I open them, she shows me a toy she broke or something she did wrong. I seriously hope she draws me pictures in the years to come like your kids do. I hope you keep these!
This is so funny. These are the kinds of things that melt a heart. What I really want to know is....Is that normal for a 5 yr. old to write that well and form a sentence? Seems really advanced. Did you teach him or is he in kindergarten yet? Just curious.

Bright kids! 73 cents will fix any wrong doing. :)
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Hahhaha, this is so great Abby. Put yourself in time out enough and maybe you'll have some money saved for a night out or a new shirt!
i usually find that if i start crying in frustration in front of my children, they feel pretty bad. just an awesome parenting tip i picked up on.

this made me roll.
that pearl, she knows what really matters. did she write that last note?
Your 5 year old needs to learn your/you're. Then he needs to teach it to all the adults in the world. Then you will be the best best mom forever.
Your kids just keep being so awesome.
actually emily, milo needs to learn how to spell "are." he is writing "you r the..."
sarah, milo wrote them all.
bon, i regularly use crying in my parenting repertoire.
the best.
kids are so awesome.
Well, that was a bright spot in my day! You have some funny kids, Abby. I love the downcast figure in the last note.
I laughed and cried a little! So darling. What I want to know is what you spent the 73 cents on.

i can't even laugh hard enough.
and, while on the subject of being a bad mom, i found myself saying "i'm so tired of you guys!" to my kids yesterday. yep. this mom needed a time out.
Yep, only kids can think of their mothers as the worst and the best in the same breath.
Oh my gosh, I love it! You should give yourself time-outs more often-- you could make bank! :)
I love it when my kids give me notes. I got upset at Kaleb for something one day, and he wrote me an apology letter. So cute. :)
jenna- he's in kindergarten and has been reading for a while but i think it's pretty standard for this age? he is a smart boy though!
Precious. It really is.
so cute.
