friday, friday, gotta get down on friday

sad evening for the sharps last night when not only does jimmer fall short, but we run out of lark rise episodes to watch. my husband really thought his life was over because of the cougs. (and i really don't know how i'll live without queenie and alf and minnie.)

i turned 27 this week. a lyric keeps going through my head. "do you remember when 21 years was ooooooold?" yes, phoenix, i do. and now i'm late twenties and drink a lot of herbal tea. and disapprove of lady gaga.

happy birthday! hey, atleast you have 2 kids at age 27. i'm 27 with no kids and that makes me feel even older somehow.

your bangs look really cute in that picture.

I agree with the other girls- at least you have two kids to show for it! AND at least you aren't my age and still walking around BYU. Speaking of BYU (I think you are funny for calling them cougs), I think all of our husbands died a little last night. Maybe we should cheer them up by seeing Beastie? Or whatever that movie is called.

You lucky girl- you can wear bangs, a side part, middle part, heck I bet you can even wear your hair in a slicked back pony. I think that is such a gorgeous look, but my widow's peak won't allow it.

I bet you love the name Queenie, huh. My friend just named her daughter Quinny. Cute, right?

Annnnnnnnd it looks like my comment is longer than your entire post. Not surprising. Want a hint about your birthday present? Let me know and I'll text you one. :)

I can't believe I missed your bday! Happy belated dear friend. We couldn't believe Jimmer, either.

I loved this post. Just remember 27 is the new 21. Also, just realized I am a female COUGAR for crushing on Jimmer hard core...who is younger than my youngest brother...yikes. I need more drama or maybe I just need a life. haha loved the post.

Hey happy birthday! Brian's birthday was this week too- Thursday, only he did not turn 27. he turned that plus 12. :) We don't feel old anymore- strangely in our twenties we always felt like we were getting old, now maybe we just ignore it or so many people we know are older than us so we feel young. I think when you are in your older 30's instead of feeling old you just feel "grown up" at least for now in this moment I think that. Later my kids might do something that makes me feel old or remind me I really am not their age.
I checked our your link from your last post- your words are beautiful; I loved reading it. Maybe because I've been there. Have a great day & love 27. Brian just walked in the room and said, "27. She is old. 27 is pretty old"- He's kidding because it was just his birthday. His favorite thing about 27 was (I think) that he could slip it into a Monty Python and the Holy Grail quote where the king sees someone and says, "Old woman" and the man says "I'm not old I'm 37" to his delight the quote worked even better at 37. :) Have you seen that or am I not making any sense anymore...or ever?

I'm turning 29 next week and feel that I'm beginning to be shocked by many things that "young" people do now.

happy birthday abs! so sorry to miss your shindig when you were in az. boo for work. you don't look a day over 17. and if you're 27, that means i'm a few months away from it. and we really just aren't old enough to be almost 30. come back to az and we'll listen to incubus and dashboard while cruising to metro or sonic.

Happy belated! I did think of you on your birthday (you and Kevin Smith-- hah hah!). I heard you were down here. Hope it was a fun visit. 27 is not so bad. We're the same age for a few months, then I'll be 28 (if that makes you feel better:).

Happy Birthday! If you feel old now, just wait til you hit 31! ;)

So, the guest post you wrote on Carolyn's blog, it made me teary eyed because I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks motherhood is hard! The last three sentences you wrote in that post... I don't think that could've been said more beautifully! I really really like that perspective on things! Thanks for helping me appreciate motherhood more!

And dito on what Elena said. We did miss you at girls night! You need to bring your darling children over to play soon! And I still have Pearls silver purse (I'm safely storing it for her). I hope she doesn't miss it too much!

Also (sorry this is so long) my family is going to have your friend David Crandall do our family photos when my parents come to town, before my brother leaves on his mission! I'm so excited! I really like how he did your family pictures, so thanks for the refferal. :)

I have been trying to find lark rise to Candleford forever...It was highly recommend to me by my cute Aunt because I go nutty for that kind of stuff. You will have to fill me in all about it at book club sometime!

Hey, we should definitely get together next time you're down here-- bring the kids on over-- I know my boys would have a blast with them (they are the socialites of the family-- I am not:). It's been too long since we've visited! I saw Pearl in a picture w/Jarret and I was like, "Hey, I know that girl!" She's a cutie:) Anyway, definitely let me know. It would be fun to catch up on more than what I read on your blog:)
