i say it out loud but you just don't care

september has been interesting. mostly fabulous.

our cat, scout, had eight kitties. she's not really our cat but we claim her anyway. i learned that when kitties come out they look like rats, but soon enough they get so cute that you want to scratch your eyeballs out.

if we keep one, milo wants to name it raphael or zack. the rest of us want to name it agnes. we make milo mad when we start chanting, "ag-nes! ag-nes!" in the car.

i got the itch to straighten pearl's hair one day. i thought it was cute but started feeling creepy on the way to get spray tans and clip-on teeth.

when i told my sister we were going to the state fair, i think she vomited a little in her mouth. but see, emily, we did have fun!
last week some soldiers shooting machine guns started a wildfire in our canyon. we survived. i won't lie, it was scary and dramatic. we were evacuated three nights but our house is fine. huge blessing.

and last but not least, we went to the phoenix concert. it was amazing. i get butterflies just thinking about it.

this is just some of september. it was a really exceptional month in this wacky year.

pearl and i have similar bad-hair-days.

pearl and milo seem so much older. they're just as beautiful (maybe more?).

not a state fair lover either, but love the photos.

so happy your home survived the fire.

adorable kitties, and some great photos- I love the soft colors and the hand holding, are you kidding me? Pearl is the darlingest. I made that word up just for her.

Delightful delighted post! I'm laughing out loud, as they say. Great photography and beautiful children. You say so much in so few words. I like that. yo mama.

reallly amazing photos. your children are so adorable.

also, those little kitties almost made me decide to like cats.

fun fact: i went to the state spelling bee when i was in grade school and got out on the first round for the word "kitty." it was terribly embarrassing at the time, but in hindsight it's just absolutely hilarious.

from now on i'm just going to list a few things that really "delight" me about each post.

1. chanting "agnes"
2. spray tans and clip ons.
3. exceptional month.

always love a post from you, abby. hope you're well. perhaps we should try the pen pal thing again?

I've never really been a cat person, plus I'm allergic, but dang kittens are sooo cute! But not as cute as your kids. I think the State Fair looks fun, my Mom would never take us as kids but we used to go with our friends and always had a good time. Plus it's a great background for pictures! Sorry we missed you at Norah's party, but hoping to see you at Calvins!

Abby, you make me wish I could take better pictures! We didn't go to the state fair, but we went to the Utah County Fair, which, I imagine would make Emily throw up for real! I had a blast, though.

Your blog and photos are awesome, but we can't wait to come and hang out with the real deal!! Will you be around at the end of October?

Love Pearl's hair - strung out OR sleek and smooth.

Flippers - I think that's what they call clip on teeth. You're showing your amateur side of child pagentry.

The kittens are darling! See, that's why I wanted a cat as a child. Problem is they get big and desert you.

you must live in my brother's neighborhood! they got evacuated too. maybe they're in your ward? the cowan's..

Kittens AND the fair? That would be too much goodness for me to handle. Throw Phoenix in the mix and I would be one happy camper.

Kittens are so adorable! Agnes is a great name, I wish we named our dog something more... well better, but we kept its given name. If it's a boy cat Lieutenant Charlie is my all time fav name for a cat -my husband's cat (when he was a little boy)had kittens and named one that and then a girl bought it and gave it "some dumb girl name". Your little girl looks so sweet with curly or straight hair and the state fair is a must! It's a classic! Everyone needs to go to the state fair at least once in a lifetime. The rides, the food, the butter sculpture... It's summer turning to fall. I'm glad you went. :) I don't know Phoenix, no wait I do, I bet that was a good show. Sounds like a perfect September. :)

you're photos are amazing! can you teach me how to take pictures like that?

Remember when we went to the state fair together. =(

This post was so full of cuteness I want to vomit!

I believe those clip-on teeth are called flippers and from what I've heard, the spray tanning is just to make the kids look healthy.

Can you tell I like Toddlers in Tiaras?

Pearl looks so grown up with her hair straight! I love the one with the kids holding the kittens-- they definitely have that "I just got out of bed" look. Cute!
