day 92
april and its showers are here. i like it. the birds are still chirping, even in the downpour, and i hear the planes rumbling on the runway and see two cruise ships out the window this very minute. today is good friday and there is surely not one solitary store open on this island. they love holidays in the west indies.
i've been reading some L.M. Montgomery books and suddenly think i will surely die if i don't get to live on a quiet little farm someday. and if it is on prince edward island, that wouldn't hurt either. (i've discovered that i can survive on an island.) so you're saying, "yeah, i wanted to live on prince edward island when i was ten, too, you nerd." but, no. i am 26 years old. and i want to live there. i need to live there. it's my new life's goal. that's all i will say about that. i want to go read more of my book.
here are some pictures from my tumblr. my tumblr is real nice. even joanna goddard likes my tumblr. i can brag about it because i can't take any credit for the pictures. so i can feel really humble about my pride.

Part of my initial attraction to Travis? He served his mission partly on PEI, nough said. I'll build a farm right next to yours and I'm 32.
PEI is cold. Too cold, which is why you'd need a summer farm in Canada and a winter farm Southern California, preferably a tract of farmland with an ocean view.
how did i not know that about travis?? wow.
i have to say that part of the attraction is the cold winters in my cozy farmhouse with my family sitting around the fire. so i imagine. i generally hate being cold but i also hate yearlong heat.
I want a farm too! My only two stipulations are that I have internet and an awesome kitchen. Then I am so down with milking cows at 4am and hunting my free-range chicken eggs.
april showers sound nice. so does a farm. i'm not so sure about living on an island though.
also, i like your tumblr.
happy easter!
dude. your tumblr is amazing. you pull all the goods i usually pull or seem to miss and wished i pulled. i'm subscribed to your rss feed.
and your blog.
and your facebook.
and soon by letter.
ew. is this too much?
happy easter. happy island. happy you.
I LOVE anne of green gables and the entire series! I think I will search my moms house so I can read them once again. At the age of ten I was obsessed with that island and having red hair.
oh to live on a farm. sweet simplicity.
beautiful pictures.
i visited pei a couple years ago right after reading anne of green gables. it was amazing. it's a place like no other. not a single billboard or wal-mart on the entire island.
If you move to PEI we're moving there too.
ummm ive been in love with prince edward island probably since i was eight from anne and green gables. and your tumbler is fabulous. and so is joanna goodard. and that she likes your blog. keep your pride. it will keep you going on the bad days.
loves. ps, check your email.
britt
I love Prince Edward Island too. I was so happy to find it on the map in the back of my book. Anne of Ingleside is my current read and it's so wonderfully sarcastic and abundantly descriptive. I love it.
i haven't read the anne books since i was little but i remember loving them. and i love the movies! when you're done with the anne books, brooke, try some of her other books. "the blue castle" is really really good. and right now i'm reading the two "pat" books. i really really love them. maybe more than anne!
Day 92? Crazy!
I remember a post you did a long time ago you said that it "turned Jamie on" or something when you said you wanted to live on a farm someday. Then you said that you couldn't get away with talking like that, but Nienie could. You're so funny.
You know I love your tumblr. I finally started google reader and I love when you post a new photo on mostbeautifuldarling. I'm always proud of you when I see my favorite blogs link back to you.
David and I have been so obsessed with Radio Head's No Surprises. We forgot about that song and recently rediscovered it. Since you and Jamie are fellow Radio Head Lovers (I know how much you love that word) do tell me if you adore that song too.
Abby, I'm wearing my PEI sweatshirt right now! Sometimes I grab it when I wake up to protect me when I leave the covers. I've had it since ... 1989, which attests to the durability of items made on the island. Anyway, let's go. I like your pictures of windows.
Your tumblr makes my heart skip a beat every time i peak in.
My sister in law has a cottage on PEI and we've got huge plans to spend a summer, learn to sail a boat, and cook lobster there in the next few years. You can join us if you'd like {won't you be living in Maine anyhow?}
Thanks for your loveliness! :)
you make me laugh, as always - and i love your tumblr as well, i started following your blog as a result of stumbling across your tumblr!
loving and now needing THAT fridge.
amazing.
I LOVE PEI! I took my mom there a few years ago, when I was pregnant with Ethan. We had so much fun (even though my luggage never arrived), and I'd go there again any day!
I think I didn't discover LM Montgomery until jr. high and became obsessed and read every book by her in our local library, and now as an adult I still say Anne of Green Gables is my favorite book. I dreamed of living in Anne's neighborhood all through high school. I should dust off my copy...
oh my gosh! my dream is that my future husband and i will take a road-trip to PEI and spend several lazy weeks there, riding bicycles and being charmed :)
i LOVE your pictures!! i'm adding your tumblr to my bookmarks straightaway!!
beautiful images!
I heard St. Kitts is the PEI of the caribbean. Haven't you?
I heart your tumblr page.
maybe I've mentioned that before.
i like your tumblr :)
pride is such a hard thing to be humble about. i struggle with it everyday.
i feel like my mother because i have no idea what tumblr is.
*i want to hug that last picture, by the way.
