i'm so tired this morning

i think it might have something to do with that giant, HALF-FOOT-LONG CENTIPEDE in our bedroom last night. IT MIGHT.

(all i can remember is stifling back sobs and telling jamie i'm mad at the world.)

You poor thing. I am sorry. You should go to the beach all day, drink that delicious looking soda, and treat yourself to a nice dinner or something tonight. Spoil yourself so that maybe you'll forget???

I would be mad at the world too. Sorry. I feel bad.

whoa. maybe you could write a short story about it or make it into a pet?

i'm sorry, but I'm kinda laughing right now....

I'm glad you found it though and didn't have to see or feel what happens when you accidently step on it.

Not that that makes you feel any better....

I really do feel bad though, for real, I hate the things with a passion, and I don't have to deal with them (except one time when it came out of our new houseplant in the middle of the night and we found it way on the OTHER side of the house, the thought of it walking across the kitchen counter, jumping down to the ground (if that's what they do) and walking all the way toward the kids room freaks me out....

yowzas! i would have cried... although, i think eliza *MIGHT* be onto something with the short story idea. i think it would be a good release. "stifled back sobs: a centipede story"

that is so gross!

you should hang it on your wall as a warning to other centipedes.

...and then write a story about it :)

OMG(osh), that would KILL me! Centipedes are so creepy and crawly. I feel you.

we used to get those in Hawaii and they totally freaked me out, so I was glad for the geckos that would eat all the bad bugs, even if lizards in your bedroom are creepy and noisy, do you have geckos or something there that will eat the bad bugs?

I feel your pain! There was one day I had just finished using our tiny Japanese bathroom and, like many other times before, used the small sink attached to the toilet to wash my hands. I was drying them when something in the corner of the ceiling caught my eye. It was a hairy brown spider as big as my fist! I had a hard time going to the bathroom after that. I thoroughly searched the ceiling, walls, and floor before even stepping foot into that tiny tomb.

I'm sorry. Really sorry. But I also enjoyed a little laugh at your expense. Reminds me of one night when we lived in the D.C. area. I was getting up in the middle of the night, and by the aid of the night light, I saw a 2 inch long waterbug/cockroach coming my way. I froze in my tracks, and it did, too. It was about a 5 minute stare down. I don't remember anything about the truce, just that it was a dreadful experience.

Ewww. Thanks for reminding me why sometimes it's nice to live in place with below zero winters. Maybe I shouldn't ask, but did you take a picture?

It probably does. That's no fun, and bugs freak me out too, and ours are tiny. I don't remember being freaked out by bugs when I was a kid, but now I am. Except earwigs. I had a bad experience at girls camp on year, and I've been traumatized ever since. Do you watch Jimmy Fallon? He had a guy on who put trantulas on him. He's so brave. You are too.

Well, back in my Brazilian childhood, I remember a rattle snake coming inside the house one night ad my dad knifing it to pieces. I don't know what was more traumatizing honestly. But I hope you still enjoying the tropics.
