i have confidence in me

yesterday i ran 3 miles on the treadmill, which i don't even know the last time i ran 3 straight miles. maybe never. my secret is that i watched the sound of music while listening to radiohead. i swear, i almost attained nirvana. it was amazing.

my favorite part of thanksgiving in arizona (besides being warm and holding delicious babies) was being in the same room as my mom when donny won dancing with the stars. truly something to be thankful for.

when you are low on cashola and possibly moving very soon (pleasepleaseplease) and your husband tells you not to buy him anything for christmas except maybe some beef jerky and a box of bullets, do you comply and feel evil on christmas morning or do you buy him lots of really cute clothes from nordstrom rack?

what is your favorite abba song? mine is "knowing me, knowing you." (a-haaaaaaaa.)

three miles? that's major.

i think i walked like three blocks yesterday, and wanted to die. uggh. it's disgusting how out of shape i am.

moving? original plan? i hope so for you!

and,

we always say that we're only going to give/spend a certain amount each year and then always over spend on each other. :)

That made my day! Well, it WAS a wonderful moment.
Congratulations on the mileage. I'm impressed.
Abba songs-there are many, but whenever Mamma Mia comes on, I start dancing. And I love Thank You For The Music.

Congrats on the three mile run. I went on a long outside run today myself and told Rich afterwards it was "life altering." I was so darn excited I wanted to do cheerleader "herkies"
So I'm giving you a "Whoo-hoo" shout out and wishing I coulda been there to see Amye's excitement when Danny won the show.

When it comes to Abba, its hard to pick a favorite. I'll say "Take a Chance on Me"

I think it's my favorite too. Have you seen the video for it? It's one of their best.

We can't be friends now. You were one of my only friends who didn't like running!

You need to buy him cute clothing from Nordstrom Rack and this is why... I need a Christmas shopping partner. We'll have the husbands watch the babies and we'll go shop for them.

I love all Abba music, but a favorite is Slipping Through My Fingers (is that the title?) I practically cried during that scene because I was with my mom watching it on Broadway and was about to get married, etc., and it just felt so close to home. I'm such a dork. :)

Go Abby Go! That is awesome, and I'm sure invigorating. I ran two miles straight and felt the same way, once. Okay so I usually just walk on the treadmill, well because running makes me feel winded and all...
And who wouldn't want to be around your Mom when Donny wins Dancing with the stars, I can only imagine.
And we are always low on cashola during the holidays so Trav and I spend the money we have on our kids and pretty much just fill each other's stockings with funny things. You shouldn't feel bad about it unless Jamie buys you nice things, then you'll feel bad. But just think of it as "the good old times."

There is nothing we can do/knowing me knowing you ahaaa/ we'll just have to face it this time we-ere throo-ooh. Great. Now I am going to be singing that for days.

I think bullet and beef are a sound financial move. plus it sounds like a movie in the making.

ha ha. grant would really be so content with a box of bullets and beef jerky. maybe that is what i'll get him. one time i ran for 35 minutes. it was all due to celine dion seriously.

I ran for 4 minute strait the other day and I felt like a queen! I am a "hater" of running when I start I just focus on when I get to stop. Distractions are key.
Oh and I say clothes!... I can't help my desire to play dress up with brent and buy him super cute clothes.

Standard semi-weird disclaimer...I don't know you (only through various people), but I have to admit that I check in from time to time. My kids are just a little younger than yours and I think you're funny! I just couldn't help but comment when ABBA is involved. Plus The Sound of Music and Radiohead and treadmill running, I all have strong opinions on too. (love them all except for treadmill running.)

I could never definitively say my favorite all-time ABBA song--only my favorite in a moment, based on my mood. Today it's definitely "Super Trouper."

Also, I hate running on treadmills. Trail running all the way. I used to be a despiser of running but I actually really enjoy it now--and I am very slow and rarely go past 3 miles at a time, but it is a good way to pass the time, entertain my kids, and keep myself sort of in shape. I definitely recommend getting a double jogger if you are mildly interested in running; it's great exercise and fun for the kids. I got my junky old (but functional) one for free! Craigslist lists free or super-cheap ones all the time, at least here in No. VA.

love it! and I think you buy him something camo to go with his box of bullets as a symbol of your undying affection :D

never give the beef jerky. we have been doing that for the last 3years because "things will be better next year". this year, things aren't better, but i won't wait any longer. you shouldn't either.

it's the small surprises that make life lovely.

dear abby,

our husbands sound very similar. all jake wants is ammo and guns. like we don't already own enough of all that. he too asked for jerky.

i tell no lie, "knowing me, knowing you" is also my favorite abba song. love it so much-- it makes me feel happy.

and you are not evil for buying him clothes. it's too be expected.

love christmas card #2
