hooray for ashleys

we took christmas card pictures today.

i know, really late. that is how i roll. i'm embracing it.

our friend ashley took the photos, and can i just say she is such a great friend? ashley, you are such a great friend. click here, here, or here for video evidence. she took the pictures with my new-but-actually-old pentax slr that my other great friend named ashley gave me. she just gave it to me! i don't think she understood what an amazing treat it was for me. other ashley, you too are awesome. {we miss you guys!}

the pentax is a film camera, so we have yet to see if they turned out. here are some point-and-shoots, anyway. i was trying to copy the holiday j.crew catalog with the chalkboard thing. if the pictures don't turn out, it will not be ashley's fault. it will be my children's fault. i say that with love, but really it would seem they have been taking CRAZY PILLS lately. i love them more than anything on this earth. but really, they are absolutely pyscho sometimes. age 2 + age 1 = difficult.

now, though, pearl and i are watching a charlie brown christmas, jamie and milo are christmas shopping, and all seems right in the world. there are very few things that a little charlie brown can't fix for me.

I adore your photos! Did you paint the chalkboard wall? I seriously want to do that, but worry about how it will turn out.
Love the pictures!!! And hooray for free cameras! :)

hi kim! no, i do not yet have a house to paint a wall, but i will certainly have a chalkboard wall when i do! do it! i actually abused the fact that i have church keys and went and used one of the church's chalkboards on wheels. my husband thought of it. he is clever!

and jarret, is that you up there?

if the pictures do not turn out, it WILL be Ashley's fault =) because she didn't know how to work that newer older pentax SLR as opposed to the really old pentax SLRs and she didn't know how to set it on manual until the lighting was too dark! dang it! but i hope they do turn out. you guys looked so fabulous. i look forward to seeing them, either way. you guys are great! and the back of your head is ridiculous!

those pix are seriously so cute and fun!! I knew that you went to the church cuz thats what I would've done. I told Doug last night that I wanted to paint a section on our wall in chalk board paint with a magnet strip. I love that stuff its the coolest!!!

Gorgeous! As is everything that you do Abby. Doesn't hurt that you are one heck of a good lookin' family.

And crazy pills? My kids musta snuck some to yours, as mine have been on crazy pills for YEARS! I have to admit that they have been more difficult than usual the last couple of weeks, and it must be the anticipation of Christmas. I'll save a spot for you in the looney bin. 'Cause 2 kids + 5 kids = insanity. ;-)
