I can only help you with Japanese. The kind of bike you want is called a "mamachari."
I have a French teacher who lives in Saratoga Springs--she's inexpensive and French. If you're interested.
I want to take Spanish lessons! That is on my Christmas list too!
Amy and I have been known to parlez a little francais. I recommend going there for 4 months. You can stay with a friend of mine who owns une l'ecole (school) enroll the kids...OR, I have a friend in Japan who owns what is referred to as a speak easy (not the 30's kind). It's an English intensive school - he could use a good family to shore up his practice, immerse in the culture. He publishes children's books, needs a creative person...let me know.
oooh, both of those offers are too tempting...
I think that we should take lessons together.
