The cravings. Oh the cravings.
Prior to having ever been pregnant, I would've told you that pregnancy cravings were pretty much baloney. I just didn't understand why carrying a baby entitled a woman to demand pickles or ice cream or whatever.
But now- Now it is just the gospel truth.
I NEED certain foods in my life. The balance of sweet and salty is key. The other day I ate jambalaya and a rocky road ice cream cone simultaneously and enjoyed every moment of it. Today I've been daydreaming about chinese food and gelato. I think if I were a filthy rich celebrity I would've chartered my private jet to Florence and anywhere in Southeast Asia by now and would be chowing down instead of just blogging about it. I'm thinking a scoop of stracciatella and a scoop of fig or strawberry...(to start with)...
Anyone else craving anything? (Pregnancy not required.)

I pretty much crave gelato every day. I feel your pain. I made gelato once, from a Martha Stewart recipe. You just need an ice cream maker, and if you don't have one, you can borrow mine.
Angela, I am muy impressed. Was it really the same, though? Did you add a little wafer to it?
well, it really wasn't the same as florence, but didn't everything taste better there? i think it has something to do with the scenery. an all-the-senses experience or something. and i didn't have a wafer, but i had a lemon bar (with lemon gelato, and lemonade, it was a little over-load).
mmmm...I love gelato.
I remember eating some wonderful gelato in Philadelphia-twice! Amye
