First word.

When Milo was a newborn, I used to think how fun it would be when he'd be able to talk and we could have great conversations together. I imagined his first word would be something like "mommy," or "daddy," or even something funny like "cookie." Save the occasional accidental curse word (he doesn't get it from us!), Milo had yet to really master a word. But today was the day.

Can you guess what his first word was?

[In an angry voice after I told him to get out of the closet.]

"NNNNNNNNO!"

Milo and daddy trying to look angry.

I'm so proud!

I love your posts, and I especially love looking at Milo. Leslie says I'm obsessed. That may be.

My first thought when seeing this picture was that Jamie looked like he was posing for an ad for Zoolander. :) After all, your boys are really, really, really good-looking. Happy V-day!

Dang it! Is Milo Mom's favorite?! As Isaac would say, "That's not fair!"

I laughed at the Zoolander comment, Debi.

No, actually all the granchildren are my favorites! Believe it! Leslie saw me clicking on the photo to make it bigger, which I always do, and she was cackling!

Okay: let me set things straight, but first things first; Abby, or should I say Milo, congrats on your first word!
Second: Amye is "obsessed" with all the grand-kiddies... Just so happened one night while I was watching Boston Legal (best show ever), I turn over to Amye, who is at the computer. She is looking at the picture of Abbys' angry boys on the blog. I allow her to enjoy her moment and continue on with my show. At the next commercial break, I look over again...I see Amye stairing at a life size pic of Milo, just gazing into his soft blue eyes!! I was loving it... I had to call her on it! I hope this sounded funny to you, maybe you just had to "be there". Sorry for writing a novel :)
I love Amye and I love her obsessions with cute babies!
I also think I might be a littel jealous...

Hello. I found your link through C Jane's. Sort of. Just kind of ended up here from linking on different blogs starting from hers.
I have two little boys, and I think about their first words, too. I noticed that you're reading "The Kite Runner." That is a powerful book. I'd be interested to hear what you think about it. Your little boy is darling.

Leslie- I LOVE that you made that comment. My mom is obsessed with her grandkids, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad you're there to spy on her! Are you ready for Canada?

Elizabeth- Hi! Your boys are cute. I just finished The Kite Runner today and have to say the best word to describe it would be "powerful," just like you said. It was enjoyable and extremely depressing at the same time.

Abbers: your mom is fun to spy on.. she is always up to something funny :) I am about 50% ready for Canada, I will most likely get everything at the last minute, typical. But I work best alone and under pressure. It's a big weekend, this one. Temple tomorrow and farewell talk the next day, busy with all the right things! I'll be up in Utah the 6th.. can I see you??
