  3. My mom used to "go on strike" when she couldn't take us anymore. I think it's a pretty smart idea. And I hope we wrote her some equally awesome notes. Oh kids!

  5. Hahhaha, this is so great Abby. Put yourself in time out enough and maybe you'll have some money saved for a night out or a new shirt!

  6. i usually find that if i start crying in frustration in front of my children, they feel pretty bad. just an awesome parenting tip i picked up on.

  7. Haha, this is amazing!! Lyla has a new thing where she tells me to close my eyes (like we tell her when we surprise her with something) and whenever I open them, she shows me a toy she broke or something she did wrong. I seriously hope she draws me pictures in the years to come like your kids do. I hope you keep these!

  9. Your 5 year old needs to learn your/you're. Then he needs to teach it to all the adults in the world. Then you will be the best best mom forever.

  14. This is so funny. These are the kinds of things that melt a heart. What I really want to know is....Is that normal for a 5 yr. old to write that well and form a sentence? Seems really advanced. Did you teach him or is he in kindergarten yet? Just curious.

  15. i can't even laugh hard enough.

and, while on the subject of being a bad mom, i found myself saying "i'm so tired of you guys!" to my kids yesterday. yep. this mom needed a time out.

  16. Yep, only kids can think of their mothers as the worst and the best in the same breath.

  18. I love it when my kids give me notes. I got upset at Kaleb for something one day, and he wrote me an apology letter. So cute. :)
