I just ate half my day's calories in funnel cakes.

Know what you like and like what you know

Today Sarah posted about some chandeliers she likes and I happily thought, "I love those!" Happy because sometimes I like things only because I think I should like them. Bad bad bad. That is part of my people-pleasing nature that is negative. Oprah was a people-pleaser in her twenties too. I can't wait until I am 50 and a media powerhouse and look back at my twenties like, "Ha! What was I thinking?!" It will be cleansing or something.

But anyway, the chandeliers inspired me. These are things I like in a house.

Graphic Rugs

Grey walls
White walls

Modern nurseries + white cribs
White, clean bedding

Colorful kids' rooms

White kitchen cabinets

Colorful craft room

Cool sinks

Industrial accents

Organization organization organization

Milk glass

Hardwood floors. Big windows and good views. Amsterdam anyone?

Canopy beds

Design Mom's exact porch. Love it.

Wallpaper. (And, of course, the chandelier.)

Wow, that was a lot (and not even close to everything)! I will never be able to afford this house, but Oprah can.

Thanks for indulging me.

booin' and zooin'

Milo forgot to shave. Jamie, also.

Aaron showed signs of steroid use.

Emily took care of Milo.

Mommy must've forgotten to do her hair.

Copious amounts of sugar ingested. The homemade cowboy costume was a hit, terrifying many.

Thanks Paula and Bob for a fun day.

Look Sarah, I made a semi-successful** softie!

**Still really REALLY bunchy.

Some pillows, too. Jamie only helped me 50% with these. Usually it is more like 80%. Call me old-fashioned, but it is embarrassing that my husband knows more about sewing, cooking, crafting, etc. than I. But the softie was ALL me. Which is probably why it is bunchy. Dang.

The Mall

Yesterday we were bored and stir-crazy, so we went to the mall. Sounds kind of scary with two cranky kids, right? Well, it turned out to be quite the opposite! (Read those last words like Elizabeth Bennett says them to Mr. Darcy.) (Nerd alert.)

We bought Milo his first church tie at Baby Gap. We were on the fence about it until we realized it was Griffyndor colors. (Double nerd alert.) I can't wait to clip that little puppy on him on Sunday.

Then we bought hot pretzels. That speaks for itself.

Then Milo took a ride on the carousel. I chose the fiercest looking stallion and stood next to Milo while Pearl and Jamie watched. Milo had a straight, almost bewildered face the entire ride, but as soon as we exited he couldn't stop saying "horsey!" accompanied by giggles. He continued this the whole drive home.

Then we took pictures in the photo booth, which I think is a fun little tradition we should start. Milo kept pushing buttons, making the pictures color instead of black + white like we wanted. (He almost gave us an "100% Angel" background, too.) The thing I like about these pictures is that Jamie and I tried to mix it up a bit, while the kids took a different approach... Milo held the picture strip all the way home and laughed and pointed (all the while still saying "horsey").

An unexpectedly fun evening!

Cure for the blues

Pearl woke me up minutes ago with grunts and then a poopy diaper that went the distance, making it on to the sheets. I desperately needed a good nap after an awful night, but it wasn't going to happen. So I grumpily got on the computer and suddenly saw the bedroom of my dreams- via Jordan, via Mackenzie- where surely poop stains never reside. Whenever you think of me, think of me in this bedroom. Thank you.

I would also like to be in a cross between Gwyneth Paltrow's elegant kitchen, and Sarah Jessica Parker's quirky one. (Can you tell I am dying for my own living space?) Thanks to Angela and Emily for referring me to these beauties.

The End of my dream home tour. (For today.)
