IKEArific

Sometimes it really stinks to be the youngest of the family.
You are the last to do anything.
No one takes you seriously.
You will always be the baby. (Flashback to fifteen years ago, Neil and I fighting. Neil: "Abby spells Baby! B-A-B-Y!" Abby: "No! Nooo! I'm not a baby!")

Other times, it is awesome to be the youngest and to have such great, supportive older siblings.

Case in point: Tim and Wendy meet us at Ikea, are extremely patient with us as we look at a billion things we need, are extremely patient with a sick little Milo as he cries and cries, and then buy us this lovely little piece in which our babe will slumber...

How awesome is that?
Thanks guys!

Time to make cupcakes

Today is a rainy day, which makes me sublimely happy. So good for the fires too.

Milo fell and cut his lip on three different occasions yesterday. He's not quite my baby anymore. Hello toddlerhood.

I have a doctor's appointment today. Two weeks to go.

Happiness is a $10 cake stand from Target sitting on our newly refinished kitchen table.

Never- on any condition- watch this movie. Never.

Why couldn't I have been invited to this?

Milo loves ?

Excuse the exposed bulging belly, but I wanted to show how much Milo loves his little sister. He is always kissing my tummy and rubbing it while saying "baby," and this shot was totally not planned. I think he's listening as she tells him her plans to cry and poop and sleep a lot.

I want to enjoy this idyllic moment before the chaos begins in a couple weeks and Milo wants to hit and step on his sister rather than kiss her. I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist (as Jamie would say)...

The Cool List by Milo J. Sharp

...or How to be cool like me.

1. Water bottles are for sissies. I drink from the hose- the hard stuff!!!

2. Forts are so hot right now. Anyone who's anyone has a fort. So hot.

3. I've gone "green" and you should too. Scooters and trains are THE way to get around these days. (And when you're riding in them, say things like "Wowee!" and "Cool!" No one will be able to doubt the coolness that way.)

4. When you're done eating, save a little food on your face for later. That way, you don't have to do something embarrassing like ask for seconds.

5. Two words: Pants optional.
